A group of outstanding artists, teachers and students of Lucknow Gharana with inspiration of Ustad Afaq Hussain Khan and legendary tabla player Sri Hirendra Nath Ganguly and borne artist Guru Sri Bibhuti Bhusan Bhattarcharya started to conduct various programmes of Indian pure music and re-established the true Indian culture throughout India since twentieth century, with the leadership of Sri Naresh Katyaan, who was earnestly associated with famous author and vocalist Sri Kumar Prasad Mukherjee and leading singer Saddhi Smt. Sulochana Brehaspati and Pandit Swaraj Bhattacharya and professor of Bhatkhande Sangeet Sanstha University, Sri Naren Dhar.
In the year 2002 Bharati Kala Kendra of Lucknow was duly registered under society Act 1860. After the registration, it ramified in the field of culture very speedily to fulfill its motto and aim throughout the country.
In such a short span of time Bharati Kala Kendra has achieved a remarkable growth. It has already set up about one thousand (1000) examination centres and also two regional offices one in Kolkata and in Delhi. In addition to its registered office at 25, Khandari Bazar Lane, Lulbag, Lucknow. Bharati Kala Kendra embarked upon the task of training, education, examinations, research and performance and it devoted all its energies and all possible efforts to achieve the defined goals in disciplined and planned manners.
A lot of music lovers, performers and devotees are trying honestly and whole-heartedly so that Bharati Kala Kendra can emerge as an institution of art, culture, dance, music and also old heritage like Yoga.
